<br />Commodity markets need the advertisement as the most important requirement to attract more customers and to sell more. One way to achieve this goal is through implementing humor. These days, streaks of humor can be noticed in most of the advertisements. This study sought the answer for the question: what are the differences of humor techniques and their implementation rate in food products advertisement of Iran and the United Kingdom? <br />The research method is comparative quantitative along with a positivist approach. The theories around the use of humor in advertising were gathered through library research. The humorous techniques used in the samples were evaluated by of the use of humor techniques table of Moniek Buijzen & Patti M. Valkenburg (2004: 153-154). This study aimed to determine the differences in type and the usage percentage of humor techniques used in food product advertisement in Iran and the UK. <br />The results indicate that the techniques with more dominant visual aspect (Humor in logic, comic appearance) have a greater use in both countries. Humor techniques that their implementation is difficult and those that are incompatible with the norms and culture of the society (humor in feelings, humor in behavior) have the lowest usage. The comparison of the usage percentage of each humorous technique and of the six categories of humor showed no significant difference between the implementation of humor in the advertising of the two countries. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />

The Arabic Obsession-Compulsion Scale was administered to 934 male and female Syrian undergraduates. Their ages ranged from 17 to 27 year. Cronbach`s alpha reached 0.73, while criterion-related validity ranged between 0.58 and 0.60. The Factor analysis of the intercorrelations between the scale Items, i.e. 32X32, yielded 9 factors, accounted for 47.2% of the variance and obliquely rotated by oblimin. The names of these factors are: generic obsession and compulsion, cleanliness and discipline, obsessive doubts, slowness, checking, lack of obsession and compulsion, interest in details, repetition, and orderliness. Females attained significantly higher total score than their male counterparts. Syrians attained almost the same mean scores as Egyptians, while thy have higher mean scores than Lebanese, Saudi, Quatari, and American undergraduates.

The theater offers its own time according to the levels of literacy, as it is distinguished from the rest of the other works of art of different kinds, such as the time of the novelist, mythical, epic and literary as a literary genre, where the level of analysis of the time is based on the semiautomatic approach of the critical approaches to reading, The problem of research was determined by studying the semiotic function of time as part of the elements of formation in the structure of the contemporary Iraqi theater text, What is the semiotic function of time in the text texts Ali Zaidi contemporary Iraqi play? The research is divided into four chapters. The first chapter deals with the methodological framework and identifies the problem of research. The purpose of the research is to (Identifying the Role of Time Simi in the Composition of the Textual Texts of the Author Ali Abdul Nabi Al-Zaidi as a Mirror Reflecting the Real Impact of the Life of the Individual in Society), And the definition of the most prominent terms of the research, while the second chapter (theoretical framework) on two topics, the first section addresses the researcher to establish the concept of time cymbals, while the second study of the study of time Simi in the text of theater. The third chapter included the research procedures of the research community. The researchers chose a sample of the play (O God) the writer Ali Abdul Nabi al-Zaidi. The sample chose the method of intent because they found that the sample achieved the goal of the research. The fourth chapter included the results of the research, Sources and references. The most prominent results reached by the researchers are as follows: 1-The characters play a key role in moving the unity of time. The author is able to explain the unity of the reactionary time by the personality of the prophet Moses. This character has a unique time sign that has the dominant influence through the semantic formation between real time as meaning, Dala. 2-The author used semantic significance in order to shorten the time interval between the two elements in the definition of significance, as one of the types of time according to the semiotic concept of external retrieval time, using the stick of the Prophet Moses to return to the time of Pharaoh and remind her of the punishment of God.

نشير في هذا البحث الى الثنائيات اللسانية ، ومحاولة تقريبها من تحليل سيميائي للأخبار .. من المعروف ان هناك فرعا في اللسانيات يطلق عليه اللسانيات الاجتماعية ، وتنقسم الى اللسانيات التواصلية والإعلامية . ولعل هذا خير مسوغ لادراج منهج جديد في الدراسات الاعلامية ، هو التحليل السيميائي للأخبار . لقد تحولت دراسات الخطاب واللغة والتواصل وعلاقة ذلك بفروع المعرفة المختلفة ، الى مشاريع بحثية عديدة ، وما عاد يكتفى بالمناهج القديمة ، فسرعة التحول في الفكر ، المتناسب مع ثورة المعلومات وتكنولوجيا الأتصال , ل، فرضت واقعها على العالم بأسره ، والبحوث هي اول من تأثر بهذا المنزع الانساني الهائل. ومازال السيميائيون يبتعدون عن تحليل المادة الأعلامية المكتوبة , ويقصرون بحوثهم على النصوص الشعرية والسردية ,وقد حاولنا في هذا البحث ايجاد مقاربة بين الأثنين لاخضاع بعض النصوص غير الأدبية للتحليل السيميائي , وقد وجدنا ما يدعم ذلك في الفكر اللساني والسيميائي كما سنرى. لقد تطرقنا الى انواع من الثنائيات اللسانية وميزناها عن الثنائيات الفلسفية المعروفة ، مثل المادة والروح ، الوجود والعدم . لان الثنائيات اللغوية لها...
